So the rumor about Yates going to 3A was true. hmmmmm wonder which team in that 3A district will play Royal- 25-3A for football. but damn, that many Houston schools dropped to 3A?
That 23-3A should have happened a long time ago. Those schools just cant compete with the rest of the district. Also those 23-3A schools are basically just feeders for the rest of the district, thats why they so small. There is politics at work also.
Let me guess:
Jones: exports more kids than they take in, high drop out rate.
Kashmere: see Jones. Also Barbara Jordan sucked up a lot of students
Scarborough: Close proximity to a Powerhouse (EIsenhower), bad zoning
Sterling: see Scarborough and Jones
Washington: See Scarborough and Jones
Worthing: See Scarborough and Jones
Yates: see Scarborough and Jones
Furr: (and I have personal experience in this) Close proximity to a powerhouse (Northshore) Slightly Racist (have never had a head principal of color and all the white people left this area 20 years ago) only in desperation started fine arts and other electives a few years ago.
Also East Houston and the south side EXPORTS more kids into other areas than anywhere else in the city (personal experience) I went to 4 high schools and there was always a good amount of kids JUST FROM MY LIL SUBDIVISION at all of them
Furthermore there is a concerted effort to keep schools black as possible to the point where they are gonna end up shutting schools down. One school in particular alumni hated the fact that their kids go to school with hispanics, to the point where they actually BUSED hispanics away at one point, to a school that was mostly black and turned it into a hispanic school. There should not even be a 3A in the middle of the 3rd largest city in america...
Be certain to mention who "they" are. Someone who doesnt live in the area would assume "they" are the school district. When in reality it's the negroids in the area screwing up crap.
Its both Chris. The negroids complaining about How 'hispanics went to the good schools with white people why they got to go to school with us?' and the district who could care less how screwed up certain schools are. Remember the district can say no sometimes...It just seemed stupid at the time cuz you could actually WALK from the middle school to the high school yet they bused them 3 miles down the freeway. You actually have old black people trying to re-segregate the schools and there are no white people...smdh...

4A is interesting with the addition of North Forest, Milby and Lee... Well North Forest and Milby rather
I guess we will see the resurgence of the Marching Generals (Lee). That ought to be interesting. Corpstyle wont work there
