A lot of time we focus on the major dance teams of the SWAC and the MEAC, but I think we should also take some time out to look at some of the smaller and lesser known team putting in work as well!! To start off with, here is VSU's Essence of Troy at the Labor Day BOTB.

I'm very familiar with EOT since I live in VA, but there's just something about their style that doesn't sit right with me. For the longest time, I've been unable to put my finger on it, because I use to really enjoy watching them.
Also, FOR ME, it's tough to watch some of these other squads because the bands are just "ehhhhh". I can't get into a routine if I'm not feeling the band and the music.
This is a good thread, and the first GYM Battle for the 2016-2017 season. Thanks for having the courage to post.
I noticed that Royal Blaze is smaller than usual. I'm looking forward to seeing what Brittney - 2yr vet (Captain - Sophomore) from California Brings to the table over the next few seasons. This is new beginning for this squad.
Hot Ice is looking good again this year with Khaliyah (shorty) as Captain for the second year. I'm expecting big things from this squad as she completes her second rip.
PROMOTE'EM! they aren't bad teams, they're just with bands not many of us talk about due to the fact that they aren't in our confrence/region
I agree.
