On behalf of the students and staff of the Virginia State University Trojan Explosion Marching Band family, we extend greetings from the Land of Troy. Be sure to inform your students that VSU is still accepting applications for Fall 2014.
While Explosion Day continues to be a tremendous success, we have evaluated previous years in order to make Explosion Day 2014 the most effective. In order to build upon this success, we have several objectives and plans in place to ensure musical development for all participants.
This year we will be teaching effective techniques for;
• Concert Band
• Jazz Band
• Choral Ensembles
For the band directors we have a Pyware (3-D Marching Drill Design software) workshop.
In addition to aforementioned activities, we will continue to focus on fundamentals and a vast array of techniques such as intonation, proper breathing and long tones. The agenda we have in place will ensure all participants get the full Trojan experience in the Land of Troy.
