    murrah high school from jackson,ms was the only band in jackson public schools district to place in the Pearl invitational and get all superiors

      Jim Hill used to get all superiors a few years back, 04,05, 06 i think.

        1957

        In fact, they were the first band from Louisiana(high school or college) period to march in the parade.

            They did a lot of stuff, but I don't have any of my notes about the band's accomplishments. Recent landmarks:

            1999- Made the switch from Corpstyle to Showstyle

            2000- Invited to perform for then Presidential Candidate, George Bush(our principal didn't let us do it because he thought it would have been too political)

            2001- Performed at the Grand Opening of the new Louisiana DOTD building

             

            Of course, numerous 1st place trophies at BOTB all across the Southern region(Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas), and all of the District and State Sweepstakes trophies from Concert and Marching Band festival.

    Received Superior Rating From The Mississippi High School Activities Association Marching Band Competition

    Received 2nd Place at the Sioux Falls Festival of Bands

    Participated in the Portland Rose Festival

    Received First Place at the Roy Martin Delta Band Festival

    Only marching band to perform at the Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival

    Participated in the IPL 500 Festival Parade 

    and much more
