WHAT'S UP WITH BLOCK BAND? BLACK HISTORY MONTH!

Block Band is having a great year thus far and is primed to continue.

Last month, the staff attended the annual Honda Battle of the Bands in Atlanta. We enjoyed ourselves and we support the celebration and recognition of Black college marching bands!

Our very own Rashad (Prunejuice) provided his complete Prunalysis of the Honda. The Prunalysis, which he has been doing long before Block Band, is a detailed analysis and description of each band's performance. He has written these for various band battles and events in the past.

With Honda being the final major showstyle band event of the season, many programs are switching gears to concert band. We have been keeping our catalog diverse with marching, pep, and concert band offerings. We recently delivered our concert band arrangement of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" for a Black History Month performance.

Speaking of Black History Month, we are dedicated to using this month to highlight some of the great band directors of our craft and talking about some of the important facts about the history of showstyle bands. This week, we feature Dr. William P. Foster (FAMU) and Dr. Isaac Greggs (Southern U.).

Block Band knows on whose shoulders we stand and will continue to serve showstyle bands in every way possible.
