  • Marches and Chorales and they are to many to name! Marches if played correctly causes for musicianship and technique along with stamina! Playing all those repeats/stanzas/1st/2nd endings, and dynamics cause for musicality! Playing chorales causes for musicianship, though the rhythms are simple but chorales require for mature tones, sustaining notes supported by strong embouchures when played! You can tell when a band is on point: when they nail their marches and chorales with little or no problems! The popular stuff is just icing on the cake! It doesn't take much to play whole and half notes loud azz f-ck, but the ignorant is impressed by that mess! I doubt if you get more than 4 responses on a topic like this! Many these days are just into loud lol!
  • Definitley marches, marches, marches....u used to hear all bands play marches in the beginning of a game or botbs, especially at the bayou classic botbs, a lotta bands still play them but we don't always get to hear them anymore....i guess the crowd doesn't want to hear that, but the musicians in the crowd look for them

In addition to marches and chorales, I think that ballads also display musicianship
