There are lots of shoes out there, mostly catering to the corpstyle bands.
I know the type of shoes that your band wears is not as interesting a topic as the new clip from Jackson but it is an important question.
The question that I am asking here leads to bigger developments in the our artform.
Let me tell you “why” I’m asking.
So far when we try to contact shoe companies they tell us this shoe is worn by more drum & bugles and that shoe is worn by The Blue Devils.
It’s time for shoes that work for us!
But that starts by figuring out what shoes does everyone use and most importantly, why do you use that shoe.
I look forward to lots of responses here because everyone who has ever been in band before has worn a shoe.
This question is open to auxiliaries as well.
I thank you in advance for your help!

When I was in Jr High. It seemed to be The Standard to wear Military Boots. with Tuxedo Spats.
Our Color Guard's wore The Same Boots with White Military Guard Spats
Our Flag Team & Majorettes (Batons) Wore the same White cow girl looking boots with Taps on them
Our Dance teams wore Ballet style shoes
... In High School, Our Band wore White "Bucks" .. (Dinkles Brand during my time) ..
Color Guards wore Black Bucks with White Military Spats. Our Drum Major had specially made spats and wore black bucks..
At TSU, it was back to wearing Army Boots.. I personally wore police boots LOL!
What I'm finding is it does not seem that there is a lot of time invested into this line of thought.
Here's another response I've received.
Good Morning Mr. Watters,
As far as shoes, we just have the kids wear tennis shoes during the warmer games when we are in warm ups. Then dress shoes when we get in to full uniform.
As I'm learning more about the shoes, I'm learning that the corps bands spend a lot of time making sure that they have shoes that are flexible yet sturdy while being ergonomically designed to be healthy for students' feet.
It's interesting that corpstyle bands pay so much attention to this but showstyle bands seem to pay very little attention to it, when we put so many times more pressure on our feet through marching and dancing.
I'm looking for more info here.

Again, this post is for auxiliaries as well.
