My drumline is very interested in leg tenors Very wel known as "toms" i cant f them anywhere can somebody please let me knw where to find them i need sibefore band camp starts lol thanks
You need to be a member of bandhead.org to add comments!
you have to search for pipe band tenor drums (thats what Pearl calls them) then specify chest or leg tenors. I would suggest chest tenors cause of sound reasons, with leg tenors the sound goes strait to the ground and is more likley to be drowned out. unless you have a large amount but you can do more with less using chest tenors. some old marching snare drums can be converted into tenors as can 14"-16" drum set toms can be used, just use the appropriate heads.
You can buy chest tenors already made but the best option is to just order a 14 or 15 inch tenor and add a leg rest and leveling bars to it. It all depends on what kind of sound you want. Chest tenors are more technical but chest is more power playing.
I recomend Pearl anything. Decent pricing and good durability. Ludwigs are heavy like bricks but they wont break even if you throw it off a skyscraper. Dynasty are good for sound but if you sneeze on it, it will break so hope that helps you with the brand
Yamaha make chest tenors to....u can actually hear chest tenors...leg tenors are some shit
