Your response shouldnt be based on your opinion buy by actual facts i go to "BTW"....nd i dnt see how we ddnt make it on this list....based on this marching season so far we at least num. 2 ....nd if you disagree you must be out yo mind....
Bad thread. almost every one with the exception of maybe Willowridge and Worthing (and even them really) have a number of things to work on. But it is nice to see bands sounding good again.
man i fee l you..and plus aint bout who the best in houston but compare yourself and standarsds to other bands in differ states, and plus think over all and listen to clips of how balance your band sound etc so then you can rate it and leave the pride to the side...cuz the same ppl you battle might be your cb in colege...IMO

Lets see as of football season2009 ends i havent heard a BAD sounding Houston band yet. Honestly the only bands that are struggling get a A+ for effort from me, especially since some of these programs are first year start-ups or have new directors...
Scarborough: I don't know where they at now but give them effort for being no more than 20 deep and blowing the whole game. Also I know some directors would love to have that Tuba 'section'.
Sam Houston: Bottom line...they are really low on brass but they sound good. Some of those kids can go to UIL concert in spring and do well....
Reagan: I walked away when I saw them perform last year....Now they on some Katy /Westside ish...what happens when you get turned in the proper direction....They have always had numbers but they are actually playing now...
As far as top bands go there would be 2 list. Most HISD showstyle bands would fall in this list because of size. The only 'big' show band in HISD is ...Milby? but their size doesn't matter. Right now BTW, Austin, Sterling, Davis, Madison, Westbury, Jones, Yates, Possibly Wheatley (I havent seen them this year) and Milby are in this category. All Have strengths and weaknesses that play off of each other (cant wait till MLK!) Until Worthing stops playing out of thier minds they up there with Willowridge, and the model that every small show band should follow....North forest gets better every year and in 2 years will be back to giving Willowridge fits again
I'm from the Milby Marching Thunder Band as a tuba player, and by the looks of this list, i'll be practicing a lot longer to get the band in the list indefinitely.
