My Opinion Joe Bullard from FAMU. Joe Bullard became known as "the voice of the Hundred." in Fall 1975-Present.
There aren’t many people that have the name recognition that Joe Bullard does. He’s been a fixture in the Capital City of Tallahassee FL and is just one of those good guys that always makes you smile.
Joe Bullard has been doing it since 1972. His voice you know. 96.1 is the radio dial. He’s an institution in Tallahassee, although he says it’s just a presence. Even if you don’t know Joe Bullard, more than likely, you’ve at least heard of him.
“Is that you? I didn’t think you look like that. You should be older, you should have more hair. My momma talked about you, my daddy knew you,” said Bullard.
Bullard spent 15 years on the air, then went to Columbia music for 14 and back again, ruling the Tallahassee airwaves ever since. He’s met Mariah, Beyonce, Prince, you name it, they all know Joe. Especially at FAMU.
Since the dawn of time, or 1975, Joe has been the voice of the Marching 100. While he’s a presence in the community, Joe is truly an institution on campus.
“It wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t hear the voice. There’s something about that voice,” said Carmen Cummings, “It’s like silk. It’s like magic that fuels the Marching 100.”
“If you ask the question, who was the announcer before Joe Bullard, I don’t think you’ll get a name anymore,” said Bullard.
The name was Tony Witman, and he too was good, but there’s only one Joe Bullard. He’s the voice of choice for thousands of listeners in Tallahassee whether it’s leading the 100 or playing some smooth jazz.

Mr. Horatio Walker has been Bethune-Cookman's announcer for a while now. He's a very crafty and gifted announcer. People are instantly drawn to his God-like voice. Not being bias, but Joe Bullard and Horatio Walker have to be one of the best HBCU band announcers ever. They both have a signature voices that cannot be replaced.
I Agree. I Myself have been a FAN of BCU Mr. Walker. and I just love that Battle between him and Joe every year at the Florida Classic

Any JSU show from 1966-2009 you will find his voice with the Sonic Boom of the South. Anytime you heard "Fine tune your sensory apparatus...." or "....the Summa Cum Laude of Bands..." from any band originally came from him.
