mann...new orleans schools suck band wise...all they do is stay locked up in new orleans blowing and doing parades and they automatically call themselves the best in the state what sense does that make.....the only school i give props too down there is mccmain at least they went to a botb outside new orleans (peabody botb) but the other bands just scary...they kno they gonna lose when it boils down to fieldshows and technical music....against Carroll, Peabody, Southwood, St.Martinville, Scotlandville..etc..So they can stay in New orleans forever and keep thinking there the best but everybody knows who the best is...

New Orleans Schools ONLY
People always have something to say about New Orleans bands but until you can outplay them you can't talk and that's just how it goes. In Louisiana New Orleans is KING and if you can't live with that beat them at their game, just look at SU since 05 and tell me you can't hear the difference in the bands sound. When I was in the band at SU we had 142 in the band and still had the sound that a 180+ SU band had largely do to the fact of New Orleans band members....
St Aug is coming back nicely. Back up to around 128 instruments and 22 color guard. The band is about 40 - 45 instrument's smaller than the pre-Katrina bands but it's getting there. The sound is definately coming back. Nice job to the new director and the alumni who helped out during the transition this summer.
