For example:
Grambling
STANDS-2003 Edition of the World Famed- This band played with intensity throughout the entire season. Not saying this band wasn't on it field wise but they handled the stands to the fullest this year.
FIELD-1994 Edition of the World Famed- This band had a clean sound and was also clean on the field, uniformity was very nice.
STANDS & FIELD-1985 Edition of the World Famed- Band had the full package, nice dark sound in the stands with a diverse book with untouchable and innovative field shows.

1989 - Widely referred to in the AoB as the "Kick A$$ Tour"...simply put, EVERYONE who ran across the AoB that year got taxed, no question asked!!! Anyone in/around that edition will tell you that the musicianship and sound quality of that band was unmatched by any other.
1996 - Basically, the edition that I saw that really made me want to be a part of it. Very balanced and clean sound, and could really play and drill.
1986 and 1984 are also frequently mentioned in AoB circles as top notch versions.
1988: This band had the intensity that I wish would come back. High knee lift, energy on the field, crunk dance routines and excellent song selection.
1997: Everything from this year's version was well executed. Every section was on point and the field presence was unmatched.
2001: Small, but packed a powerful punch. Balanced, clean sound in the stands and well executed drills on the field.

2003 & 2004 Marching Wildcats Stands: I swore many kids that year was made off their song selections played in the stands. I wish I were in college during this time frame because Wells had them playing some jams.Nothing like hearing a band at equal pitch. Part of my reason why I decided to attend Bethune-Cookman just to hear their sound. Best of all, who didn't look at KeKe (Yellow Bone 14K Dancer) during segments when the PRIDE played "Da Butt"? LoL
1998 Marching Wildcats Field Show: They were ridin' that season. Only marching 198 at that. Even ran the 100 for their money at Classic. (Knowingly they will deny as usual LoL) Back in the good ole days where the drills implored more creativity and energy, the dance routine was point with the type dances of that time, and who could forget when the 14K dance all were FAT bottom girls. LoL
2007 Marching Wildcats Stands & Fieldshow: What wowed me the most were the magic tricks pulled by the DMs. The Horsemen are one of a kind for the intros. The sound was rich and song selections were decent. This was also the first year the school became a University so the band had to while out especially with the formation of creating a statue of my school's founder. All HAIL....

2008: This edition was one of the most versatile and well rounded bands that I can think of especially over the past 2 decades. The power was still there and was arguably one of the cleaner SU bands period. Drilling of course is a given with us.
Sorry 90's! lol
Although 93, 95, 96-99, 01, 04, 05, had some really good bands
That is all....
