That trumpet does that...its apart of the arrangement.....trust me no mistakes will ever be taken to another city....practice perfection.....but its never that serious doe
First of all, whoever was recording was closer to Shaw. So I don't think it's fair to judge Baker's volume off of this clip, but Shaw was definitely CRANKING!!! Shaw clearly has the more advanced horn players, but I think that particular advantage can be potentially dangerous if not tamed. For instance, on Shaw's 2nd song you'll randomly hear a trumpet screaming out of no where. Nevertheless, both bands could have been cleaner, but the W goes to Shaw.
Baker won hands down shaw had the power but baker arrangements was just amazing you had to be out there to hear them to me shaw just had power I give them that ......but overall baker .....in person baker sounded very full just like baker bd said to shaw wheres the color in the song which baker had the audience really leaned to baker side wen they started playin the different songs instead of the common songs that all bands played out there that day
Bandfan06 yes Shaw had a better song selection but musically Baker was better, Shaw arrangements were "TOO BUSY." Baker arrangements were straight to the point get in and get out. Yea Shaw was more entertaining, cause they was dancing around the whole time but its more to it than just that.
TWD I mentioned nothing about dancing. Shaw had better song selection and their melodic lines were clearer then Baker high. That is just my opinion and I respect yalls. I'd like to see how the judges rated this battle though.
He was applauding out of respect. How are you judging the quality of music by entertainment only? So because Shaw dances around they take the W? Lol wth? MUSICALLY Baker was better.
So you mean Baker was more entertaining to watch? No way lol I sense bias voting in yalls selection. I mean cmon! I am simply a band fan and musician so I have no connection with either schools. I do have ears and eyes and yall mustve heard and seen something else. I though Shaw was better at balance and arrangements. Baker was simply loud and stood there like a deer in head lights for the most part. I mean even Baker's band director was applauding Shaw's performance. Call it common respect for the other band director but I believe he and the crowd knew who won this battle. What did the judges say? Did Baker or Shaw take home the top?

Shaw was playing in battle mode. Baker remained at ease and put on a presentation. Of course Shaw was more entertaining, but Baker won musically.
