Thanks again for the invite Doc. I will do my best to be there for the Walker game to show my support as well as give a donation for your trip next year. I dont ever like to pry or get in the way of teachers teaching their students. Therefore the only thing I would be able to contribute to your students would be old stories of band competition and my opinions as an observer today. But I would enjoy to get a glimpse of how it all comes together in the bandroom on Huntlee Dr. I will make it a goal to meet you, your staff and the kids in Nov. and I sincerely appreciate you accepting me into your program's activities for that week. You seem to run a classy program and I truly respect that. You guys please continue to make people like me proud! Please inform the kids that they are getting off to a good start this year and that people know they will get even better later down the road. Cant wait to see more clips.
  • @daOtherPurpleOne  we welcome ALL and I mean ALL alumni to come and talk to the kids and even us, and contribute in any way possible so that we can all be proud of the program that represents so many people from 1964 to the present. The Karr vs. Walker game is to be November 4, 2011 at Berhman Stadium. If you want to drop by the band room that week definitely let me know. And unfortunately we won't be making the Dallas game because we have to raise funds to represent the state of Louisiana in the National Memorial Day parade in Washington D.C. in May.
  • @JGrows
I really appreciate the invite. I want to make the game at Cowboy Stadium on Monday but I wasnt sure if the band was gonna be there. But I definitely want to make the Walker game cause I like the whole Algiers rivalry thing. Plus I would like to see David give Goliath a run for his money. (lol) Just confirm the date for me so I can make arrangements. But like I said I know you all will do fine and I will always be proud of the program. I am looking foward to the fieldshows and always know that old cougs like me are always watching. (lol) Cant wait to see more clips and please believe my intent was never to tear down you and your staff's hard work. I just have so much pride in my old school that I tend to look at everything as a way to not get content. Remember, the last time I was enrolled in Karr, I was impressed with schools we went up against like Bell Jr High so I know top quality when I see it. It was dificult to maintain band pride going up against monsters like that but we did. That's why I am real sensitive about our standards and image. But keep keepin em talking bout us and by the way, if you are performing Monday in Dallas and I cant make it, I will be watching on TV because it will be televised where I live. Make us proud to be Second to none!
  • DaOtherPurpleOne I respect that. I feel what you mean about being creative and original. Of course we will always have a JSU influence but trust me, when we hit that field, we are coming with some creative, out the box, ideas. We only have 3 games in the city (Helen Cox at west jeff stadium, Homecoming, and Walker at Berhman stadium) so we are making sure that those performances are memorable ones. If you can make any of those, feel free to drop by the band, say a couple words to the kids, etc. We welcome in all alumni with open arms. All of the staff are on bandhead and are closely monitoring comments (good and bad) so we can turn our weaknesses into strengths. Your opinion is greatly appreciated and we will continue to strive to be the best Karr band that we can be.
