First of all, any comments I've made here have never been about the history of any band espically Grambling's. Any negative comments I've had on GSU has always been about the current state of marching band. You can go on about the history and legacy of the World Famed Marching Band and how much you know about it (which I'm confident you do), but that's just the problem. It's history! The current band is inferior compared to most college marching bands (from what I've seen online, in person, and on TV) and that is the fault of currant band director who has yet to prove to me that he's qualified to be high school band director, let alone a college band director.
Second of all, I have NEVER stated that JSU's program was better then it was in the past, RJ. If anything, I would have said their band has declined as well. Nevertheless, that doesn't change the fact that GSU needs to be under new direction.
Antonio, you're fooling yourself because the main difference in GSU's sound is the band director. Dr.Mr. Parnell is an incompetent director and doesn't hold a candle to the previous GSU band directors and it has shown the past few years. If you honestly think that the quality of sound is the same now as it has been in the 80's and the 90's, then you are either in denial or an idiot.
Boy hush....Our field presence is still the same. The sound of today's band is just as strong without the organs on the field. Not a knock on our history, because I love it. Understand this band is still the same. It was hot then, but today the game has changed. What worked then ain't so hot now...we had to modernize in ways....but on field...for all the talk u doin who can touch us? I'll wait....if u say anything besides SU and FAMU...u foolin yoself.....
