  Yes Ervin, that's why your opinion that the SCSU Marching 101 will never be Morris Brown should be aimed at the director and not a direct shot fired at the band because the members of the band are only stewards who follow the commands of their band director based on the vision he or she has set forth. Again, they don't direct themselves, I don't know of a band yet that does.

  Kevin, the SCSU Marching 101 is not trying to Morris Brown nor have they ever tried to be so I will tell you as I have told others who don't quite seem to get the memo that when a band director leaves one school and come to another school it is only natural that he would bring his vision, his philosophy, his teaching style and techniques, and YES arrangements he used with his former band. So the things that Morris Brown did under the Ellis era came from the vision of Mr. Ellis just like they are coming from him now with SCSU.
