Excuses, excuses the fact is the Boom F*#K up only thing they did right was the gospel song, J-settes fallin on theirs faces twice, the whole show was dry and no energy in the dance routine, And here we go again "Alcorn is trying to be like the Boom, that is old, not true so find another excuse for that jack up show, you need to blam Dr. Taylor for changing the drill a day before!
I am sorry Alcorn show cannot compare with the Boom irrespective of our mistakes. Yes everyone loves to see the Boom mess up but clearly the level of difficulty of the Boom vs Alcorn is totally different. Alcorn increased numbers but discipline, sound quality, etc. is still lacking. Since they have a former JSU band director there are several things they try to immulate the Boom but can't quite get it right. The same with the JSettes the level of difficulty is very high so the probabilty of mistakes is high. So whether it's a trumpet player or one line that's too straight when it's JSU haters just exist. We got so few votes but manage to get to the Honda three times. Meac shows were not superior in my opinion, there were crooked lines at times and with their numbers should have blown the roof off the Dome but that didn't happen. Yes JSU was half the size this year but still took care business on and off the field. SWAC bands are much more exciting to watch than the MEAC bands SWAC shows energetic and lively. Maybe one day Honda will become a true battle of the bands and bands march in and play in the stands.
so messing up is not sloppy? Imo its the same boat ride would you rather be sloppy or messed up? Same thing. Jackson has had many messed up an sloppy drills just like alcorn too quit reaching when both had the same issues both drills messin up a tpet player at jsu and asu drill messed up a dancer equal mistakes.
desmond JSU shows at honda have been ok. Not great this yr and sound was omg but ppl making it as alcorn show was bad and it wasnt. Both jsu an asu had troubles on their drill!! The swac did a good job. But look at both meac bands shows now that is superior shows. I just wish the swac bands put their names on the list last few years its only been 4 swac bands not much to choose from.uapb was suppose to go in 2013 but turned it down and they have excellent field shows. Every school in the swac has went but valley. But i just wish other bands go. Attendance was blah but jsu an asu brungnq nice crowd and showed each other love.
But anyway, this show was well-planned and executed (aside from the "oops"). It's interesting that the BOOM has gone to the Honda for the last 3 years under different directors: Murray, Liddell, Taylor. Comparing the shows, DT has DEFINITELY shown to be superior to the others.
Smh please, people. Let's NOT start this little debate on yet ANOTHER clip. Leave your comments/criticisms here about JACKSON STATE and keep it moving. It doesn't matter who you are.
well asu an jsu both messed up on their drill both but both did a damn good job at the botb just as both did well 2012 season, give props rivals and all but damn! Both repped the swac an the sip tbh swac did way better than past battles, just wish both dance routines were a lil more wowing but both had minor mistakes but nice shows from both!! Now bring these shows to 2013 CCC. Good job boom an sod.
