Louisiana Sounds of Dynamite Marching into the Austin BOTB Summer 2011

I want to sincerely thank the youngsters who participated yesterday from the bottom of my family's and my hearts. The man that this annual botb is in honor of would be proud(my grandfather). After being pushed out due to some illegalities in desegregation as a band director and then having to watch black and tejano kids get moved out of fine arts almost systematically, this botb and the bands that attended are motivating more kids to pick up instruments and play them well and enjoy it. S.O.D. did an awesome job, very precise and very poised. He would've especially liked the drilling- one of his strong suits with a block 64 back in the day. Keep practicing youngsters.
