  • N.O. bands are gonna come back up, they just need a way to build in more feeder Jr high schools with good bands like Gregory, Bell, Live Oak, etc did in the past. That is what made Kennedy, 35, St. Aug, Reed, Carver good because they had Jr. high programs that had great band members would go into HS band programs and contribute in their first year, rather than having a band of beginners who will be good in three or four years. I think what St. Aug did was great by building their own 6, 7, and 8th grade feeder system into the school.
  • they were. And I HATE 35 (cuz I went to St. Aug), but I keep it real so if I give them props, they handled biz. That was kind of their "coming out again party" cuz before that, they weren't really a good program since their long time director Mr. Jones left after the 00-01 school year
  • 35 was not giving anybody a run for their money.
  • ahhh memories....!!!DA SHIT!!!!
  • just to throw this in Since yall talking about the n.o botb from 2003...I was a lil kid when I went to that...all I can remember was getting lost tryna our find tad gormely comn from b.r, fortiers long field show, Marshall middle school, and leaving early as idk wat. I seen the clips thought thanks to Garret! and LLI comin back to n.o. may 5 for that who's the man botb...
  • JGrows, I remember that night too. Then Carver caught them (LLI) walking to their buses and played "Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming". Man, I cant front, LLI did their thing that night, but talk about smashing....smh. Carver and 35 held it down for tha city that night
  • @JGrows yea, everybody wants a piece now that they finally stand a chance.smh.  I just hope the N.O. band scene manages to get back to it's former greatness. With everything being so different from what it was back then, it's hard to imagine N.O. ever getting back to that. As good as the all-star band in the video is, people were complaining about the 90's kids not being as good as the 80's kids.....and you know right now we wish this current generation could just get back to where we were b4 katrina.
  • @LC yeah, nobody wanted to step to this. Now (post Katrina) everybody trying to go at New Orleans throat. smh. I remember when 35 was giving LLI a RUN FOR THEY MONEY in Tad!!!! Great clip!
  • Thanks very much!!!
