  • Boy, please...it's done every year every mardi gras.

  • It's sad how you niggas are trying to give each band a win for this short brief tune up battle when both bands are equal and sound good you niggas need to get over this shit. These Two schools really didn't showcase there full arsenal.
  • Aug won the battle. Walker take your licks.

  • so now we goin back to what it was b4 the storm? St. Aug gets the win and nah we saying the styles are different. If the shoe was on the other foot, ya'll would be on here slammin the Aug.You have got to be kiddin me if you say walker was fuller. How bout we use the term balanced then. St. Aug was more balanced. I'm not sayin Walker don't sound good because they do, the trumpets are not hear, btones and tbones dominate and the mellos supportin the tpets. For St. Aug, I think they could still use some work on the trumpets but overall they sound real good. As far as alumni are concerned, I have seen several alumni say that it was a good battle (some even said it was tied until the last song). They may be a couple of cats on here making it seem like it was domination but for the most part every Purple I have seen post sumthin positive about both bands..

@ ArthurF Actually their fame came from a number of things, and yes Rex was one of them. Other was the fact that they competed against a lot of white school programs in the Deep South Field Competition and was get superior ratings. They were doing things that even a lot of colleges weren’t able to do.  Of course there was the discipline aspect of the band that always drew attention. I understand what you are saying about our alumni, but it just pride brah. I really don't believe that we have one alumnus on here that thinks Walker is sad. It was a great battle. If you haven't seen the video below before you might want to take a look at it.  Good talking to you brah.

  • Now let me point out something, from the start St.Aug didnt want to battle Walker, they had their buses to ride by walker to see if walker had left the school already, The "Truth" shows up on sight to find the Aug lined up in the back of General Deguall which was strange why would the firsr band be way back there so go look into this about 85% of the local New Orleans Law Enforcement are graduates of St Aug Right? Right so why was "The Truth" ordered to go down and lineup @ Kable Dr. & Deguall? I could answer that them people told there fello alumni with them badges to not let "The Truth" come back there and blow them back accross that Water.
  • All in All it was a great battle. Don't see it happening again this parade season though. Just like last year. The had plenty of chances to battle again but they didn't so I don't see it happening again.
