  • LOL @ Clarence. I was just telling my homie that, it sounds like JSU has two mello parts (b-tones and mellos) and all the mellos sound like they have their own personal piece of cardboard in front of their bells....neither sections phrase @ all, everything is separated and choppy! JSU would sound like a completely different band if they utilized phrasing in their playing style.
  • most of our trumpets are people thats been in the band and a couple of people who came back after taking a year off...
  • I used My Beats Headphones to watch this and it felt like I was actually there...nice camera...TXSU sounded really good they mustve recruited some really good trumpets....and JSU Im not really impressed because I hear them all the time but they were sounding good also....This Game and the SHC have been the two most exciting games this year if you ask me.....
  • JSU is trying to get back to the old JSU where cranking is not everything thats why most ppl thought this would be a bad year for the boom but think again..............................In the end its about how good u sound not how loud you are

  • good stuff
  • my main gripe with jsu is the sound is nowhere near equal to the numbers.....but yall sound good AF
  • Did the Boom  lose some B-tones, and Mellos and T-bones? Thought I remember them having a little more. Both bands were holding it down good job to them both! Props to TXSU Mellos and the Booms B-tones and Bones!
  • We gone have to get you down to Jackson this summer. It's goin live but not complete without humb in the house lol.
  • and at TSU, most times I treat every instrument as a melodic instrument, capable of playing anything versus your typical, f-horn suppose to play counter melodies at all times and so on (for example : fhorns parts in standards marches in my opinion are so boring.) But on the other hand....I think JSU BTones play like they are mellos. The band plays mostly loud to me. I think the baritones were overblowing they were overblowing the entire game Playing so loud, they not even sustaining the melody throughout their songs that they have to alternate and cut off notes (what love got to do with it for example). They basically play the horns like cannons. Every single note was between the range of F and C Concert and didn't exceed past eight notes.  The F-Horns sound really weird to me and the parts they play are WEIRD as in produce a weird tone.... the marches really were not good this year but I was glad to see the band play them IMO!!!
  • Maybe it me... but i am REALLY not feeling TxSU... Mello's trying to be trumpets... B-tones Trying to be mellos(BOTH SIDES) Tubas trying to be Btones.... Trumpets taking up the last note of the melody.....     NOT FINISHING phrases.....
