TxSou wasn't trying to match JSU's power at all in this clip. TxSou's problem in this one to me was being out of tune really, really bad...and the sousas could've pushed way more throughout the song. JSU sounded fuller....but seems like they got lost in the middle of the song and everything becomes muffled. JSU has more individualistic playing going on. Some people are pushing WAAAAAY passed everyone else in the section and it shows in these sections- JSU's btones, mellos and trpts. Didn't suck from both schools but reminds of the SWAC 90's before 98. Some bands had only a few sections that were really collegiate-sounding.
YEAH, I THINK TxSU GOT THIS ROUND (AND NOT BECAUSE JSU WAS TOO LOUD LOL) IMO TxSU HAD A BETTER ARRANGEMENT OF THEIR SONG AND EXECUTED IT BETTER THAN JSU DID THEIRS (NOT SAYING THAT EITHER BAND WAS PERFECT...FAR FROM IT) BUT ON THAT CLIP OF THAT SONG ON THAT DAY, JSU DIDN'T SOUND LIKE JSU AT ALL....
Frosty, The clips are in the Right place. I went back on my footage and even tough i dont have all of it.You guys played marches while we was marching in... That's why I didn't post them. If you want to call that a round Fine no problem. To me marches are a good warm up and a good display of what you band can play, but i don't consider them to be battle tunes. Thats the same way i feel about TxSU - Caravan. The Pre game got serious when yall played (party dont stop) and thats where the real battle began so thats why a started from there.
JSU sounds better.
txsu gets a cookie for trying though. prime example of a band who sacrifice sound quality for more volume. why were they trying to match jsu's volume all day? it made them sound worse than they have all season.
