  • lol @ someone wanting us to get bashed...smh

  • The camera lies a bit on the volume from what I'm seeing on these clips.. can't hear everything like I could at the game.. but that Cee-lo was the best song that night to me..
  • I just dont care for Carless Whispers sorry... it sounds like a knock off Txsu version.  I am here to tell all of you that those clips are deceiving. When PV did play their songs sounded middle schoolish.  If JSU would have performed the way PV did this past weekend, they would have gotten bashed, but because little ole PV did it they get a pass?
  • Love my Storm man!  Still love that "I Want Her" by JState...man funky groove.  Glad PV came to play, but stayed in there lane at the same time!  Good battle and enjoyed both bands.  Hope we can see each other regurlarly.  That Rick James joint PV played (the 3rd song) still jammed to me.  Best song of the night.  Funky man..... Just FUNKY!
  • Looking at this battle of the 5th actually like both bands and PV held it down in the thread ppl made it seem as JSU killed PV but from what I can see nice battle....
  • From actually being able to play in both of these bands I was really looking forward to this match up. Especially one since its been forever since both had a matchup and for the two best bone sections throughout all HBCU. Not actually getting to make it to the game :'( I have to judge by the clips. And to be honest PV actually sounds alot larger and full than they actually are. Both bands seemed to have their moments of greatness and weakness if you can't tell but both actually sound good. But this is what I would say about the battle just from the clip point of view.

Sound Quality: JSU....PV Baritones really made it bad for their overall sound quality

Music Selection: I expected better songs out of both and not the same old stuff we always hear so I'm going to skip this one

Low Brass: It's on and off with this one. PV tubas sounded alot better, crisp, and clear but the B-tones sounded horrible, Trombones is hard to be honest. Both sides was actually on it (especially SOP on Tyrone loved that). Have to wait on the battles to be uploaded to judge them completely.

High Brass: Trumpets of course goes to JSU, you could actually hear them (Sorry to PV seeming the section leader and I was in the same band) Mellos is much of a toss to me. Both was actually good and not killing the band like TxSU 20+ mellos lol

Woodwinds: Yeah who really cares about them and can actually hear them to tell lol. Sorry.

Percussion: I honestly loved PV because they fitted right in. Not to loud and not to soft. JSU was really banging those heads

Overall: I give this battle to JSU (sorry PV and hope it won't mess up my scholarship lol but I'm just being honest. Makes me miss JSU though but im still PVAMU and TNT bound)

  • PV really played Tribute to Bob Marley wow! It sounded good... But I was amazed with JSU tbones on Fool for you!
  • I give it to JSU IMO!!! The Boom sounds better to me, but PV was bringing some heat! Good Battle! I hope it dosen't take another 25 years for another one lol
  • Decent battle. I was liking the Cee-lo by the Boom. PV was tossing some heat across the field (to my surprise). I will say I agree with Damien though. Please leave the "for ___ size" cop out where its at.
