  • For Minidome and anyone else reading thee comments I'm not starting an argument or anything, just having a discussion about this stuff so don't take it the wrong way. I understnd what you're saying, but as I said before I watched their video before I heard the song, and I like their video better than the T-Pain video. I know it sounds a lotlike their arrangement but that's just how I wrote it out. It's slower than T-pain's recording because I wanted it to be slower and smoother, now the mic I used didn't capture that effect, but It sounds much better on the T-Pain Medley vid I put up.And I liked the way Albany ended it, so the last measure is the same, but the rest I listened to the song. Going back and listening to Albany, I do realize the rhythms sound very much the same, but when I first wrote it out the rhythms were all whole and half notes, then I went through after I was finished with the notes and added rhythms and a drum track. I kept changing things around until I liked them, and it just came out like Albany's. If I had cloned theirs or just transcribed their recording I'd say I did, I mean I have many arrangements in my library that I did not write out or that I just transcribed. However, even if I did, I don't really understand the big deal. If I would've transcribed the song and posted it, how would that be different than everything else on this site? People post them playing fanfares all of the time, and they post their sections and bands stuff all the time. Most of the time high school bands don't have their own arrangements, they just use Southern, PrairieView, etc. Who ever they model after. Now, that's not to say they don't have any original arrangements, because each school probably has on average 2 signature songs. Now considering I just graduated high school, and I recorded this my junior year, how is that wrong even if I did copy?
  • U went back to T-Pain??? I've heard the real song many times and your transcription isn't based off the song... If it was it wouldn't sound like a carbon copy... There's so many different ways to WRITE this out that it shouldn't even sound the same. U even took the same rhythms as albany. The rhythms that they played were not the same in the song. Notes were put into different spots, rhythms were changed and was played a totally different way than the original song. Thats what an arrangement is, your own piece... Even their tempo was different and you slowed it down cuz theirs was slower. U can't tell me u got your version directly from T-Pain's song and it sounded like that..... Now it don't sound bad like i've said before but this is the wrong site to be on when u post a clip that sounds like someone else's.......... We don't play that...
  • I understand and I'm not arguing, but I've actually had this discussion with someone else. This is what I wanted the piece to sound like. I heard Albany play it and I decided to go back to T-Pain's version and arrange it. I didn't take it from them , I mean the intro is completely different and I think the ending just came out the same way, it's just the way I harmonized it. I feel ya about the style, but I didn't want it to sound like theirs, I wanted it to be smoother, and the mic and stuff I used didn't really show it. I might spend some time practicing recording this and do a 2nd take.
  • I didn't say u couldn't play it did I?? No.. Just like u play what u feel like playin, I'm sayin what I feel like sayin... And they may have inspired you but it sounds like a transcription minus all the style in the other piece. Not takin away from u but thats my opinion...
  • So only one person can play a piece of music? I was inspired by them to write a four part arrangement and so I did, and I played it.I never claimed to be the first person to do this song.
  • Albany State euphonium section played this months before you posted it. And they had 7 different parts with 7 ppl playin it. It don't sound bad but u late bruh......
