  • Amen brother Johnson...u said it....See i know that Dallas can be a powerhouse and i dont think that these instructors see that we can set trends and be creative. I jus want Dallas to be on another level...we have upper hand right and they just dont see it. If u instructors need help with your drumlines or snarelines or even if u instructors need help with the drum then hit me up....i will work with anybody.....i only want to make my city better. When i was in high school we didnt have somebody to teach us everything under the sun...we had to teach ourselves and pick up as we went. you guys should cherish and enjoy your craft and take it to the next level and always strive for PERFECTION. What a good way to start by being ORIGINAL.
  • I agree...I mean, Dallas drumlines aren't what they used to be when it comes to being orignal. My alma mater was always strictly Jukebox, but we always knew how to bring something fresh and inventive to the table. The Phunc did bring out something fresh last year, though, once they grabbed a student (and fellow CC Phuncster Alum) from TxSU. They were impressive. I also saw Bishop Dunne as big of a line as they were a couple years back and they were just as impressive, too. Some of these lines nowadays do try, but they won't be on the level of the lines from back in the day unless they learn how to create.
  • First of all both drumlines seem like they dont have their own material.....reason being is that all i heard was BOX stuff and Chocolate Thunder stuff but when will the Dallas drumlines put their own material out there....you guys look and sound great and thats even more reason for me to say that WE NEED TO BE MORE ORIGINAL....its not to clown you or talk down on yall but i want my city to set trends and thats a bad start in my opinion. I understand that your instructors teach you those things and they want you to play what you to play but you guys can make up your own material that way we aint gotta hear the same cadences in every show. i would not let my boys battle when i know what the other line gone play.....i also understand that sometimes its not what u play but how u play it...cool...but yall are wearing the hell out everybody else music but your own...come on Dallas....i know we have more ORIGINALTY than that....just my opinion. Great Job LTD and SOK...hope to see more from you bois.
