Southern University Swang SWAC VS MEAC 2010

I was told by one of the BDs that the tubas they use are so old and raggedy now that some of the necks don't stay in place. If you look closely you'll notice maybe 2 or 3 tuba players holding their necks while the rest of them aren't.

Complaining online gets you nowhere...BUT what you CAN do is put your money where your mouth is. If the horns can't support the necks like they did in the past, is it the students fault? Mind you, those are the same horns from the 70s and 80s. SU is in a deep budget crisis. Don't like what you see, donate funds to buy them new sousaphones so that all of them will look alike. Complaining gets you no where! Be apart of the solution, not problem!

They get the horns repaired several times during the semester to have the same results. They put electric tape around the necks to try to fix it, don't work and it's tacky. It's easy to look on the outside and judge, but how about you ask the members on the inside how tough it is to manage with a World Class Band, but garbage instruments. Don't talk about your era, when the equipment that they use today is outdated to the 5th power.

Yeah Greyskull, holding those necks is unacceptable! Where is the discipline? They need to have a "neck fest" when they get back on the yard. Add some pushups, running, jaguar rocking, and whatever else necessary to get these kids on track.
