i yelled at somebody on tuba 1 year for holding his neck only to find out it was broken.

No you probably can't...BUT what you CAN do is put your money where your mouth is. If the horns can't support the necks like they did in the past, is it the students fault. Mind you, those are the same horns from the 70s and 80s. SU is in a deep budget crisis. Don't like what you see, donate funds to buy them new sousaphones so that all of them will look alike. Complaining gets you no where! Be apart of the solution, not problem!

I was told by one of the BDs that the tubas they use are so old and raggedy now that some of the necks don't stay in place. If you look closely you'll notice maybe 2 tuba players holding their necks while the rest of them aren't.
