once again ernest you youngsters know nothing bout history,back in the early 90's everybody played difficult music,the key was students being able to READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it
It's not the arrangements its the way they play their music. Play everything long and not chop notes for volume. Those arrangements bust Walker azz, so why change? Would you prefer them play the S arrangements and sound bad?
letting you guy know key info walker marched nomtoc for 9am that means those kids was up 12 hours marching before bacchus parade and they sound tired, and there draging. walker plays all music up tempo!!!!
i know this from going against them from 94- 00 and im from algiers but no excuses st. aug was up for the challange of marching mid city and bacchus which they do every year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! walker dont march doubles and it showed but this is not walker at is best 6am school arrival 9am parade eat practice and back on the bus!!!!!!!!!!! the n.o is back cant wait till next year football season
That's funny. All of a sudden St. Aug music is easy. Nobody was sayin that when other schools were playing songs like "Ruff Riders", "Hay", "Together Again", "Sweet Dreams" and the list goes on. The only school that played challenging music outside of Aug was Da K, McMain, 35 (when Mr. Harris was there), and Easton. Karr too but nobody gave them any respect. Stop making excuses. Aug beat Walker at their own game and now they can't handle it. Next year should be very interesting..... I know Aug will continue to grow and challenge the kids there to shoot for excellence every time they pick up that instrument. Looking forward to them concert videos.
People just give the W to the Aug. Let Walker take their lick like big dawgs. Excuses excuses smh. Not saying Walker is sad, they're really good band, its just St. Aug is better this year. If Walker won then we'll be saying "Walker won" but they didn't so better luck next year!
Of course 03 is going to be stronger you are talking about 8 more T-bones and 20 something more trumpets than todays band. That 03 band had over 50 trumpets.

@bambam we didn't play Crush in 03. We didn't play Crush in any of my four years in the band (01-05)
That's gonna have them sounding like everyone else. As of right now they still have their unique sound.
