  The best sounding bands in New Orleans this year was a toss up between Carver , St. Aug, Easton, and Reed.  Reed IMO had the coldest overall upper brass, and Carver had the coldest overall lower brass.

  Man if this was Spring '05 them boys were SMASHING. St. Aug was the best band in the city that year. I'd give second to Reed and Carver right behind them in 3rd.

  I wouldn't say St. Augs songs seemed made up they just wrote their arramgements to tailor to their trumpets since they carried most of the melodies in their songs

  It always seemed like St.Aug's songs were made up. Like they took pieces of unknown songs and put them together.
