  • What's up Zock? My boys from St. Aug refused to face reality. We didn't see this as any kind of a battle.
  • Yall young folks kill me with these posts.  SU did not battle anyone that night.  SU did not march at all that night. Pure entertainment.   There were invited high schools and St. Aug was on of them.  Tapemaster you need to post the halftime show that night.  I believe that was Jackson last year at Clinton.
  • Eric baskin..... The one who originally arranged the tune.
  • Who is that directing Enough is Enough?
  • hey VotedBESTDressed713,those AUG trips to the SU Homecoming festivities were for OLD TIMES SAKE .
when DOC took over SU was n NOLA almost every year for Carnival('69-'79)..
ST AUG SAW SU EVERY PARADE SEASON N THE 1970s.Those SU NOLA trips served many purposes..exposure(bcuz Grambling was the most highly requested and most traveled HBCU n the '60s & '70s)(thus # 1 n Louisiana)recruiting NOLA(the first JUKES were MADE BY NOLA PLAYERS)There were so many quality bands marching Carnival Parades n the 1970s SU had to be a part of the parades.football was not winning and were not traveling outside of the SWAC so every opportunity to perform was seized.Although a few HBCUs had already made the trip to PASADENA;SU didnt do their first Rose Parade until the end of the decade('70s)
AFTER GOING AGAINST A GOOD GSU BAND THRU the '60s and '70s SU FINALLY BECAME THE KING !!

alot of young people dont know...

alot of older people refuse to admit that at 1 time GSU WAS MORE  POPULAR,MORE REQUESTED AND TRAVELED THE WORLD WHEN NO OTHER BLACK SCHOOL DID IT!!b cool
  • Nice one VotedBESTDressed713! (lol) I am a jukebox fan but I also admire the legacy that is St Aug as well. Just the fact that St Aug got SU's attention that year is impressive to me. Could your old high school battle SU? Besides, SU wouldn't get any points these days for battling St Aug post-Katrina. But for the record, I grew up idolizing SU and will always rank them 1 in my book because of their power and song selections. So don't worry. The mighty Juke is still mighty to me! (lol) I just got love for my fellow New Orleans schools. That's all. Thanks for your post.

    or does he? lol
  • What game was this and who was the original opposing band leaving on the other side?
  • LOL....... Yea man this is classic classic stuff ! I wish I still had pt. 4 my original tape that had it on there (grew legs during a tape party lol) but its all good.
