Osama the fact that you had to go back to dig this up and post shows completely and without a show a shadow of any doubt that you got to be the crazy. At this point, all you did was prove my point. So tallking out your face is a waste. And by the way, didn't our US military special treated you a few years ago? You shouldn't still be talking. lol.

SAD TUBA, you more than live up to the word SAD. Being DUMB ASS would be a step up for you. I will say again as was stated by an SCSU band member who mentioned Mr. Knighten's words to him, Yes this is the arrangement he used at Southern, but he made subtle changes to it to fit the make up of SCSU's band. If you look at both bands especially in certain areas of each band, you will clearly see that their make up is different. Again, he stated that Mr. Knighten's indicated this as his approach to working with bands outside of Southern. And when you ACTUALLY listen to both bands play it as I did, you will notice those subtle changes. Among those subtletys, SU plays it faster, and BY DESIGN as it wasRe-Arranged for SCSU, they play it somewhat slower than the original song. Here is the comparison clip that was posted on this. http://youtu.be/rVeAfHx4DS8 And in this clip many folks have argued that SU was louder, but notice the camera distances - that does make a difference. SCSU was just as loud when the played this against Bethune Cookman last band season in this clip. Based on cameras angles alone, the untrained eye and ear would make the obvious assumptions. The clip that's being discussed on here is the clip of this season's band playing the song. As I stated previously, many of the folks on SCSU's band this year are new and don't know the song as well YET as those who learned it last band season. That also makes a difference. So before making some of these one-sided comments when you folks are attempting to be sideline critics, take into account all measures before making such uninformed statements.
To Fabe404 1) In order for SCSU to have stolen a song from SU, SU has to have rights and ownership of the song, which you and I both know they don't, or at least I know they don't. 2) SCSU can't steal any band director that obviously didn't want to stay at SU and to my understanding wasn't appreciated. 3) SCSU plays Love Saw It by Karyn White & Babyface much slower than this sped up SU version and I certainly do prefer SCSU version of it. You all are looking a bad angle of clip when you know there are much better clips of the SCSU playing song this past band season so come off of it. A good number of the band members in this particular 2012 clip of the Marching 101 wasn't a part of the band last season when the played this so that does make a difference. 4) Further, if you really knew Mr. Knighten, then you would know that he alters his arrangements to fit the makeup of the band he's working with....many of the SCSU past band members who worked with him before his untimely passing indicated this because he told them so. SCSU and SU are two different band with two different makeups and styles. 5) SCSU was never trying to be SU just because they played some of the songs that SU used to play under Mr. Knighten. You apparently didn't get the memo that when a band director leaves one univerisity to go work at another, he or she is entitled to take their band teaching philosophy, techniques, and arrangement books with them. These things belong to the director not the band. 5) Speaking of finding something, find yourself a spot and sit still sir or madame. The End!
To Sad Tuba....you clearly live up to the first part of your name....Sad! Next time, give your thoughts full value before bringing them to this forum to make uninformed and ridiculous comments.
