  Man, great stuff. I'm actually trying to get a brass band started down here too, I'm going to be arranging for it too. I really respect what you guys do. This sounds great.

  Thank you, Book. Don't forget Jamaica and Haiti...what they do is called calypso and ska and soca. It has the same stroke patterns as 2ndline...just like Brazilian batucada, some forms of salsa, merenque', and brazilian samba, even junkanoo in the Bahamas. I guess they're not coming correct either? Those forms existed BEFORE 2ndline and have their origins in West Africa. Open your minds people...plus Texas Brass plays funk music mostly. I know...I'm in Texas Brass. Keep playing your horns too people. Bell's palsy is no joke and I appreciate the trombone now more than ever.

  we N.O isn't the only place with brass / jazz bands. in fact I always mess with folks in some brass bands here about starting a Funk style brass band why? it would be slightly different here. So many bands here are basically remakes of the bands before them.. In my head I could imagine a New Orleans version of The Roots, or how Youngbloods brass band is,...
  
  Traditionally, N.O's Jazz Ensembles were like Swing Bands. and they came in all forms .. some with a drum set, some with all trombones, some with clarinets.. some with Baritones... all that really matters is how the music is played that makes the band what it is.

  Dude shut up. We do what WE do. Don't hate. We make money making brass funk music. And when we get paid for it we do 2ndline. Ourvmain drummer is from New Orleans. Get off this hating. Tell me..where do YOU play professionally? I thought so.

  its nice and all but brass bands dnt play wit a drum set and dat many ppl man its like you playin with New Orleans culture man come correct or dont come at all
