Well, still, i'd say pop then notes a little more. That's what I learned from one my schools alumni who played tuba for cookman. Makes the note fatter and and it sounds stronger.

play them notes a little bit shorter, pop em a bit more when you're blowin' it'll sound fatter. but you defenitely got that bottem goin.
