  • This is ridiculous. Tuskegee Director should be ashamed of that and ASU director wrong for giving his band the go-ahead....that was a potential disater waiting to happen on TV. Although Tuskegee showed no regard for the Home school, telling your band to come out and go thru their ranks was dangerous. I understand the frustration, but as a director, you should NEVER under ANY circumstances jeopardise the saftey of your students.

I Hope Tuskegee's director was repremanded and  Ihope ASU director says a prayerful thank you to the man upstairs for watching over his group....We gotta do better

  • So because the time had expired TU felt it was ok to play neck during ASU's show? LMAO!!! I'am done with this topic because of the lack of logical comments! Still happy no one was injured or worse!
  • see this is a one sided look at it. Read the Montgomery Advertiser. It tells ya what happened was a timing error that should have be corrected before TU took the field. This could have been an all out brawl on the field over a miss understanding. Plus TU playing neck came when the clock time expired yes State was still on the field but the expressed time for halftime was over. Plus as soon as the song started the director told them to stop and not try to right a wrong with another wrong. This is from someone on the Tuskegee side that was right next to both the Band Director for TU the AD for ASU and the President of Tuskegee University.
  • @ moband21 Thanks for correcting my grammatical error! Its funny how you would take time out to do so and then neglect to answer any of the questions I presented to you, but from your response I can gather you have no validity behind your written words!
  • I never said we showed outsanding traits, but if someone breaks in your house, or at least tries to, would you just sit there and let them finish or would you try to get them out of your house?
  • @Bandfan21 when you engage in calling names of people, places or things, please get the correct spelling. The spelling is NOT Tuskeegee, I stand to correct you with Tuskegee. Once more, I was there, and only speak on what I actually saw. That's a fact JACK!
  • @ Moband how is it you seem to know more than the people who actually attended the game? Did Tuskeegee exemplify class, when they attempted to play "Neck" during ASU's show? Did Tuskeegee exemplify class or common sense, when they did a 13min show which would have been even longer, had not ASU took the field when they did? You have to give respect in order to get it!! I don't know what world you live in, but this is real life!! Like a number of schools stated in this thread, Tuskeegee does this often, but unlike pervious times, something was done about it. You can say what you like because at the end of the day its just your opinion, but the fact remains Tuskeegee didn't time their show nor did they obey the rules of the game, which caused the outcome witnessed on ASU's "homecoming." Plus ASU band director told Tuskeegee band director they were cutting into their time and he brushed it off as if he didn't care, so the only other option would have been for ASU band to do a "Post Game Show" at their "homecoming" because Tuskeegee head of band cannot tell time! It was 20mins on the clock and TU did a 13min and counting field show.
  • @MellowDee ASU did not exemplify having class by charging up TU while they were playing. Again what you heard is not facts its an opinion.
  • since that hbcu special on HBO the hbcu band world is extra sensitive
  • To continue, I've heared some people say that they extended our halftime to about 25 mins. But in any case it was extened for our homecoming court. So, 8-10 mins for each band, and 5 mins for the court to be presented. TU played a show as if there was never another band doing halftime. ASU has more class than that; to just take over halftime when another school is playing. If anything when we are uncertain if another school is coming we make sure to prepare for a shorter or longer show for any case.
