  • man the good ole days
  • yall sound good but every trombone is playing one part

  • Of course New Orleans was the band capital back then, but not the only city with great bands.

  • ceda grove may have ben the best band in they district and smiley may have ben the best band in they district

  • the thing is neworleans had like 9 bands i n one district that was good.you can go to 7 different  games and record a good battle

  •  FirstScreamerSA, I wouldn't say that because you had Willowridge, Smiley, Whitehaven, Southwest Dekalb, and Cedar Grove that had some pretty strong band programs outside of the New Orleans area. Even my high school played arrangements from SU and UAPB.

  • Now back to the original topic, I just can't get down with the unison trombone part. It was loud but......

  • Why is this an old Baker vs. new Baker thing? Baker is still Baker. Your band can't be overrated when you win almost every BOTB that you compete in and beat the Central's, WMs(with Haymer), and Smiley's(with Gordon), then go to LMEA and make straight I's. If anything Baker has always been underrated.

  • That's not what our first-place trophies and LMEA festival trophies said.

  • New Orleans is the  only city with high school bands that could could play pretty much any college's song book. We will never see college level high school bands ever on that level again. I went to Tuskegee, and I personally know several high New Orleans schools (St. Aug, Kennedy, Reed, Carver, 35) that could have come through our stadium and tore our heads clean off.
