New Members, Aspiring Members, & Old Members are saying the Lords Prayer as the Drummajors eagerly await them to finish. The prayer has just been finish, the Band Captain & drummajors all say together, TAKE OFF, over 100 students take off running to the stop sign, some are already, some are stuggling & others are laughing or complaing. Then they start to make it back to the band hall, They line up outside the gym, they run through all excersise, once finish they head to the practice field to work on marching 8 to 5, with a high knee lift of 90 degree angle & 45 degree angle. They practice on step 2s, pin wheels, and etc. It begins to rain, the drummajor says BAND ATTENTION, THEY SAY PRIDE. DM's say Parade Line Up, the band director pulls up in his truck to watch the band. The percussian begin with a cadence. A whistle is blown to move the band into the street. The rain gets worser, it begins to pour down raining. Head DM, Willie Moore blows a whistle to roll off out entrance song, GET READY, as we are passing the Stadium where the football team is watching us. Then they high step it into the band hall, the drummajors whistle for the kick down, & band say GWH Solid Gold. They sit down & the arranger hands out new music for the show "Never Satisfied" our possible drill song. Hours pass by & we continue to get new music. Its 5:30 and the director says stand for the prayer. We pray & are dismissed. And he tells us to come back tommorow at 5am. And this was only the first day of camp........
