  • The clips show that this was a pretty good battle no matter how some members of each band are claiming outright W's. The fan's won IMO. I liked JSU's fuller sound/power. I liked TxSU's Arrangements balance and power.

TxSU has come a long way, granted they are not as POWERFUL as they have been in the past but the power is still there and the sound quality keeps getting better. I didn't too much care for killing me soflty but otherwise good job.
  • thats why i like TxSU, cause they underrated but due to the fact that there in the same conference with SU and JSU
TxSU is the third best band in the SWAC and one of the best showbands period

  • Ok after just sittin here looking at all the clips... TxSu is a good lil band, but JSU is a better Bigger band.. I wont give the W or L to neither... Good job bands... Txsu use to have more power from what I can remember, but it will do... JSU yall pulled that Maze out huh?? Never heard that one... glad to see the book is still growing.. Homecoming I will be there again and yall MF's better play them hits!
  • yeah JSU got the W...TXSU good stuff....both was a lil rough on some stuffoverall JSU....my top 3 aint changed yet..
  • JSU didn't outplay them. Could HAVE but didn't. JSU was trying to steam roll on the Ocean but
    1. mellos and btones aren't good at taht CLEARLY
    2. the arrangements JSU is playing don't call for power at all
    3. when JSU does play with power it doesn't last long.

The Ocean is very powerful for their size. I like the clarity. Work on staying in tune. Halftime...way to drill a mudhole in JSU. JSU...clean up your halftime and don't say that "We're JSU, we were playing TSU and didn't care"....what tha f*ck ever.
  • Clearly? Are YOU serious? How? Clarity? No. Both were clean...and sloppy at times as many times as the other band was. Outplayed? How? Clarity while playing runs? More runs played? Counter melodies? JSU had some glisses in the bone section....but it was so much effort to OUTPOWER the other band you couldn't hear them well. CLEARLY the best? Did I say they were or weren't? I could care less about that ranking because it's completely relative. What does JSU do that's heads and tails above the rest week in and week out? halftime- which is what fans care for? Heyall naw. That halftime you did against TxSou would place you in mediocre status. Go practice and quit getting mad cuz someone called out that bOOM BULL***.
JSU's mellos were straining, out of tune and doing individual-HERO playing...with bad TONE QUALITY. Hanging OVER EVERYWHERE...dude.....you're hilarious.
Again, they didn't OUTPLAY the Ocean. They didn't even play anything that was REMOTELY difficult or moderately difficult. Go listen to the bOOM in 98 or 2000 and some of the songs they played and HOW they played them. Finesse is outplaying...an arrangement with some technique is outplaying. Ya'll aren't playing anything other colleges wouldn't yawn at. And notice, I didn't say W or L. In fact, since the game was over I wanted to know what really happened....as an alum and a fan of the SWAC experience. Save all them asterisks for someone who fears them.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! +!@#$ z be reaching for +!@#$ to say when it comes to JSU... i guess thats what happens when you are CLEARLY the best... JSU clearly outplayed them.... More clarity and more articulate... THE only section from TxSU tha gets props in mellos...BUT THEY ARE SO OUT OF TUNE ITS REDICULOUS!!!! BTW.. TxSU's halftime show wasnt to hott...

now in my honest opinion TxSU did not win that 5th (im real enough to admit that). they held their own but they had more rough parts than JSU even tho JSU had their flaws as well but TxSU's flaws were more apparent. i expected better form both bands.

    but JSU, this halftime show...

    come on now...

    like seriously...that drill.....
