I'm hearing alot about this collegiate sound....neither band really REALLY wants to go there tone for tone. Stop that mess.....embouchure problems everywhere, horn carriage problems everywhere.
Ocean- "Choppa Style"- interesting. LOL brang it back then, I guess. Bones have a good sound, a lil work needed but good.
JSU sounded good but tell me why you JSU people are running around talking about the Ocean was trying to MATCH ya'll's power (which I really don't see the Ocean doing anything they've never done powerwise) when CLEARLY you all were trying to take the "we're gonna steam roll over them" approach. It didn't work....because your middle brass doesn't have the wind for that and don't need to do that.
TSU bone, how was tsu balanced when their btones and fhorns (especially) were overpowering the WHOLE BAND!? don't talk about when the tubas came in. yall sounded like pure trash!! TSU yall are the ones letting yall pride get yo YALL. DT your opinion don't matter, you go to su. nuff said. Of course you would favor a baraitone n fhorn ensemble featuring random noises..
how you gonna talk about txsu mellos not sounding good taking stuff up after that i got 5 on it that JSU played? JSU mellos were straight missing the note and not getting up there.
