I looked at all three shows and St. Aug's show was the best out of all them. They drilled, had a nice sound, didn't lose power when they marched, and more energy to their show. Baker's show was nice and so was Scotlandville's. If you take all three of those points into consideration then St. Aug finishes 1st, Baker 2nd. I see some people talk about execution flaws in Aug's drill. I saw maybe 1 or 2 the same amount if not fewer than Baker, since we want to be so critical, but I'm not cause these kids put a lot of effort into this show and don't deserve to be overly criticized by grown men. However, that is just my opinion. The results are what they are but I can't help but think there was a little home-cooking in those scores. That's personal opinion though.
Is this not a forum where anyone can voice their opinion or comments? I hope you are not an adult calling someone ingnorant and to keep their comments to their self - this is a public forum. I can asure you sir I am quite educated and I too think St Aug's drill was better. MY OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!
Javante Miles what college band staff are you on, because clearly the judges were all college directors are assistants. So I guess you know more than them. So maybe you should be the director at Southern University.
First of all until you receive a bachelors of music degree from an accredited university, please keep your comments to yourself. You sound very ignorant. As an educator, I know about marching and concert band. Baker High School won the Battle of the bands based off sound and precision. Yes, St. Aug had a nice show, but our sound was better and we had fewer execution problems. This is the main reason why I never get on here to watch any videos. Some people can never except the fact that the three judges picked Baker to win. Since you want to expose yourself, Baker won by 6. Baker had a 287, St Aug 281, and Scottlandville 278. So until you learn about a marching competition. Shut your mouth. Now if you want to talk on a more personal level, please call me at 225-281-9862.
