i'm sorry to say but n.o. may never get it again like we had it.There was pride across the board,from your 40 piece band, to the 100-plus groups. And i agree that S.U. had and still does have a great influence on youg musicians.

St. Aug's marching style (aka horn swing) was one of the very things that made them different from all other bands. Nowadays (Post-Katrina), it seems like many of St. Aug's members are influenced by SU, because you have some members marching the traditional way that made the Aug famous, and others not so traditional. It's funny, because even though when I was in the band we admired SU, we admired the St. Aug bands of the past even more. I really think my little bothers really need to pay more attention to what earned St. Aug their great reputation a little more. Then and only then will St. Aug rise to glory again.
